e has cancer in her breast (bra) and at 3:00PM today they called me to take her from L`Azile, my hometown to Port-au-Prince(3hrs30mn drive) to a bigger hospital. Early tomorrow morning if it`s God`s will , I`ll leave for my hometown. The situation is this, I will arrive very close but I won`t be able to arrive at home like usual because the hurricane Sandy has distroyed a part of the road. They will bring her to me there. Again I require your faith prayers. God bless you.

Dear friends,
Once again I`m very excited in writing this letter to you. How are you doing? How about your family and activities? Please let me know.
My family and I are doing fine. Like I told, my father had an operation at the begining of March, after about 15 days he had and infection and were deeply sick. He had spent 8 days at the hospital and thanks to God now he is at home in my hometown and a little bit better. Besides of that everything is fine. As for the school, the situation is difficult but thanks to God we`re very close to finish with the school year at the end of June. We beg God for a better school year for next year where all our kids will be able to go back to school. As for the church I praise God for the strong faith that he give us to worship him spite of the fact that we`re in terrible situation and worship under a tent.
At the end of May to the begining of June we`re planing to preach a Crusade at the church yard. Please continue praying for this ministry to go on and preach the Gospel of Jesus so that people can continue Getting saved through this ministry.
Happy Easter to you and I pray for special spiritual blessings upon you in this occasion.

A Letter from Pastor Opont, Delmas 32,
Port au Prince, Haiti November 4, 2010
Once Again I`m very pleased in writing this letter to you and I pray that it reach you fine in Jesus name.
I had a safe trip back home. However, one day after my arrival there is a big wind like hurricane in Haiti that killed many people again and with lots of injured. There was no electricity over Port au Prince for 8 days or more, lot of rains also for many days and thanks to God, two days ago it`s a little bit better. From the end of September to now I have a busy schedule to see how I`ll reopen the school but it still difficult because of the place after knocking down the building that was collapse and the last wind destroyed what we used as tent for the school. They also offer two properties to the church for it expansion and they want us to act quick because the owners are in a difficult situation, but we keep on trusting the Lord because they say the first come, first served. Please we require your faith prayers. This will be a great opportinuty for the ministry. I keep on trusting Him. The larger property is on the south of our building when you`re in front of the gate and the other one is in the back. The first one is $20,000US and the second is $5,000US. Nothing is impossible to Him and we have been praying. God bless you and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

"Vacation" of a Lifetime!
We will be scheduling a trip in the near future (pending interest) We hope to take 8 people along with us. If you would like to join us and don't think you can go due to financial constraints please feel free to email me at don@hopeforhaiti.org I would love to share with you ways to raise the needed funds. The estimated cost at this time is $1200.
I know safety is a concern for most people. We will be staying at a nice hotel on a walled and gated property that sustained very little damage during the quakes. The hotel has A/C, hot water, fans, back up electric, an on premise restaurant with American cuisine, nice size pool and according to the website they have free in room internet service. We will be sleeping 2-3 to a room.
This will be an "awareness" trip. The reason for these trips is to give you REAL information to share with others about our ministry in Haiti.

This picture shows the damage to the property next to the school. The building was unrepairable and the owner decided to sell. Pastor Opont wa able, with our help, to procure this property and the property behind the school. This will allow the school (in time) to expand into the secondary school realm.
